Hoff's Hot Takes - League Chatter

11/11/2020

Hello and welcome to Hoff's Hot Takes.  Today is 11/11.  Make a wish!  What lovely weather we have been having these days.  Makes you really happy to be alive and in the good ol U S of A.  We got the Masters this week as well, BONUS GOLF! Interview with Micah this week fellas. Strap in.  He is now my go to hot sauce sommelier.  A ton of stuff to get to this week so let us get moving.  This week's Taeks are brought to you by Pineapple Truly, The Office episode where Michael tells Holly he loves her in front of the whole office, and Rice a Roni Creamy Four cheese.

Nick keeps on rolling.  Will we have a wire to wire finish from Nick Rill?  A first in PHB history? Nick took down Peter to move to 8 -1.  156 points.  Dalvin Cook with 35, 17, 55, 48 points in his last 4 games.  Nick is the only team with over 1,100 points.  He has 1,276.  Do not want to be a downer here, but the fantasy playoffs has Dalvin Cook facing Tampa Bay, Chicago, and New Orleans, who are really good defenses.  Peter drops to 5-4 here, and holds on to the tiebreaker to keep the 6 seed.  Peter plays Nolan this week in a matchup of current 5 and 6 seeds, so this game will shape some playoff standings in one way or another.

Jordan gets 16 points from the Saints D/ST on that Monday Night game to edge out Tidwell for a W.  Roethlisberger and Diggs were just a bit better than Rodgers and John Brown. This seems to be the end of the line for Tidwell, who is outside looking in by a good margin after the last few weeks. Jordan immediately traded Aaron Jones and Stefon Diggs to Beej for a first round pick after the games.  If Brian ever gets Sanders going, this team is final 4 bound, but he may be there anyways.

Beej took John outback and showed him what it is like this week.  You are going to read some Kyler Murray stats later this article, so I will spare you, but he is on pace to beat Lamar's total last season.  Jayblez drops to 9th this week, and needs a win like a fat kid loves cake, I love your style girl, Ill do anything to make you smile... GUUUUUUUURL.  Let us take a look back at JB's predictions for this season all the way back in January.  "Early Playoff prediction - Peter, Nick, Joe, Nolan, Berrones, BJ."  That is currently right on at the moment.   He also predicted Miggy would finish top three, which in this Big J journo's opinion, is on track.

Our interview this week is with Micah.  Ready.  Set. GO.

Question 1: Rank these convertibles - Corvette, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, BMW... And what color?

Micah:  Not a huge car guy, ranking on swag plus performance-> Audi, Corvette, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW.  Silver.

Question 2: What candy bar is better in a Halloween mini version rather than a full version?

Micah:  This question almost defies logic.  I like it.  I would say Mr. Goodbar.  A very underrated chocolate bar that i seldom buy as  full bar... but i have made mountains of mini wrappers many times.

Question 3:  Give me 50 words on hot sauce?

Micah: I think there's a hot sauce for almost any dish.  I perfer a thicker hot sauce.  Siracha is my go to now.  When i discovered it a noodles and co around 2010 I started abusing it right away.  I'd slather so much into my Penne Rosa that I was couhing and choking.  Great stuff... My personal reccomendations : Siracha - noodles, hot dogs, sandwiches, seafood.  Red Tobasco - eggs, chili.  Green Tobasco - Mexican.  Franks - pizza, wings, general fast food.

Question 4: What is your ideal bedtime and first alarm?

Answer: Ideal bedtime would be 10:45PM.  Ideal wakey is 7:30.  I set one alarm and one alarm only.  Would rather just get up when I need to than have a drawn out, chopped up wakeup to start the day.

Micah loses to Nolan, who had monster games from Davante Adams and Deshaun Watson.  Nolan survived an average game from Kamara... Kyle loses a close game to Mike.  Mike keeps on keeping on...

UPSET ALERT!  George, who was 1-7, upsets Joe off of some garbage time Jerry Jeudy points.  Jeudy seems to be a good long term play for George.  Gurley is an interesting thing moving forward. George is obviously keeping him, but he isnt the automatic first or second rounder he used to be.  Still a huge advantage to have a 3rd-4th rd guy in the last round. He is also historic at touchdowns per game. Pair that with Herbert, Zach Moss, and Kirk and he has some guys to wheel and deal and make a billion trades with, or keep. Woo Woo Woo!

Currently listening to Bill Simmons podcast interviewing Matthew Berry.  Here are some highlights I learned : 8th in the NFL in rushing yards? Kyler Murray.  He is a top 5 fantasy running back.  Only players averaging 60+ yards and a rushing td this season?  Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, and Kyler Murray... Since Dak got hurt, Zeke Elliot is RB32...On a per game basis, 2.5 points per game seperate TE 10 and TE23... The two healthy TE that have had multiple weeks as a top 2 fantasy TE are Travis Kelce and Jimmy Graham...Travis Fulgham is the 5th best WR in points per game...Lamar Jackson is not a top ten QB per game... Berry thinks Tee Higgins long term may be the best WR in this class.

King of the Hill - Eliminated -> Micah Jordan Kyle Peter George Nick Tidwell BJ... This week we eliminate Joseph Gaza with 88 points. We are down to our final 3 of Nick, Mike, and Nolan.

WEEK 10 PREVIEW - Before we start the week 10 look ahead, I just wanted to point out that seeds 2-5 are separated by 16 points scored.  Besides Nick, not much separation here, with seeds 2-8 separated by only 3 points...Lets see if Beej can keep his streak going of not finishing in the bottom three. He is the only player not to finish in the bottom three for a week all season...Jordan has Mike on a down week with all his Chiefs on bye.  Jordan needs a win to stay relevant here, so let's see if his team can stay afloat...Beej should keep rolling against Tidwell...George and John matchup in what should be a preview of week one of the consolation bracket...Joe vs NIck in a game Joe deseprately needs to keep up...
