Championship Preview
Hello and welcome to Hoff's Hot Takes. We are recovering from Covid, Christmas, and a ton of time locked in a house with a two year old. Takes are brought to you bye Beer, Paw Patrol Christmas episode on Youtube, and Bowl Season. Quick tangent - Covid has made me like bowl games. These games are insane, and the broadcasts are unintentional comedy gold. We are down to our final week in the Player Hater's Ball, and we have some recaps for the people.

Round 1Recap - Kevin rolls through Beej, almost doubling him up in the process. Beej comes to a screeching halt and gets rocked. My big selling point for Kevin was that Hill, Adams, and Andrews are the best three WR/TE combo in the league , and up basically beat Beej's team by themselves.... George and JB played the other first round game. They put on a show, and had one of the two closest playoff games in Player Haters Ball History. It was a bit of a slapfight - 70 to 71. If only JB started (checks his notes) Gabriel Davis over Julio Jones... The consolation brackets had a bunch of slapfights, and not a ton of points. Not gonna lie, according to the NFL, round 1 of the playoffs had the lowest amount of touchdowns in a week in like a decade. Historically weak weak.

Round 2 Recap - Nick must of treated his team well during the bye week, cause he came out and put up 125 and a 15 point win. Nothing really to report here as far as crazy stuff happening - Nick has Seahawks D for 3 points, Mahomes for 22, and everybody was in the teens. Just a full team domination. Congratulations to George on a good season... Kyle and Kevin had a good game, but Kyle ended up getting the best of it by 20 points. As mentioned above, Kevin got big games from Andrews and Adams, but not Hill. That was the difference. Good opening season in the Player Haters Ball, Kevin. Consolation bracket had a little more stank on it this week. Jordan and Nolan, who both won and play for the consolation bracket title, led the week in scoring. Joe had a nice game, and pulled out a close one against Tidwell.
Round 3 Preview - Lets start with our consolation bracket - for the title we have Jordan vs Nolan. I believe Joe has Jordan's first round pick, (and third round pick. If I could put that "Eek" emoji in here, I would) so this game means a lot to Joe and Nolan, and not a ton to Jordan... Beej and JB play for 5th and 6th place. Good luck to you PABs.... For a chance at third place and to finish in the money, we have Kevin vs. George. If Kevin and George played every week of the regular season, George would be 10-4. Kevin is really gonna need some runningback help here, even if Hill, Adams, and Andrews give him 70 points. Georgie's guys are hitting their stride, and if the season was longer, I'd think he would be in the title game. Give me George to win.... Last but not least, we got Kyle vs Nick for the championship. If Kyle and Nick played every week, Nick would be 9-5, however, Nick scored over 100 points every time Kyle would have "won". I went all year with predicting Nick to win the title, I will not stop now. I will say this will be a 118-115 game, with Nick counting his lucky starts that he won. Nick will win the 2021 Player Haters Ball championship, and cement his legacy as the greatest Player Haters Ball team of all time.
Be on the lookout for a 2021 wrap up email from JB, and a 2022 look ahead from the Takes soon.
Peace.
