9/19/2023 Hoff's Hot Takes

Hello and welcome to Hoff's Hot Takes. We got two MNF games this week. That is fun. Today's Hot Takes are brought to you by leftovers for dinner on a Monday so you do not gotta worry about cooking, Lagunitas, and Bryce Young being terrible (But not as terrible as Justin Fields and Desmond Ridder, who re objectively the worst two QBs in the league)
Week 2 Recap: Jordan vs. Micah...Jordan put up a valiant effort in week 2, but he fell short to Micah. Mahomes and The Steelers D/ST leads Micah to a big ol grid style win over JPH. Jordan had a big game from Hurts, and all of a sudden drops from 2nd to 5th. Micah meanwhile moves on up like Marvin Gaye. 37 points from him D and kicker. Jordan has a bad week but has to be jazzed about Bijan. Micah is good... George vs. JB -> We have JB throwing up a 140 piece like it is baby powder at a Lebron basketball game. JB sits in a real good spot after two weeks, and one has to feel good about his team. He had 5 guys score over 17 points. Including McCaffrey, who if the season keeps going like it is, should finish in the top three of MVP voting. He has about 60 fantasy points in two weeks. Josh Allen is like playing a video game on hard move where every time you try to pitch the ball, or do a spin you automatically fumble. He is on pace for 32 turnovers this season. Clean it up Coach JB. George is just being George. His Packers killed it, Jaylen Reed and Jordan Love. Hate that. Not much else going on for George here until he trades his dudes for draft picks. George also has an extra 14,15,and 16 next year, so he is set basically ... Mike vs. Nolan...Mike loses one of his big boys this season, and he comes out firing to get a win #Worth. Nolan has two spots on his bench that are empty. Mike also had Nick Chubb have one of the worst injuries in football history after JK Dobbins tore the Achillies. Tough go for Mike. He sent out the trade email earlier today, and now it may be official. Bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off Mike wins 111-100. Mike has a deep enough roster where he will and can compete for a 5-6 seed, but does he want to do that or sell Evans, Pittman, Goedert, and a few others to stay in the running? Time will tell. Nolan is going to be good/not great until like week 5 when his team gets going; after that he will be like a 4-6 seed I think. #LongTerm... Tidwell vs. Apostoles-> Peter takes the cousin bowl. Lockett is still a bamf, and Lamar lead the way to a good all around week from the 12. Tidwell is still good, and should be in the mix for one of the last playoff spots. I am also wondering if Saquon should be traded for a big haul and start over, cuase he is good but I think he will not be good in 2025. Like at all...BJ vs. Kyle-> Beej had a 95 point week last week. There is no point score worse than a 95-105. Not good enough to convince yourself its a bad week, but not good enough to feel good about yourself. He made up for it with some big boi (outkast style) points this week. Devonta and Garrett (Two kids in JoJo's class) had 50 points together. He has Kelce. If Beej can figure out a move on the trade market for a good/Great RB, I think it is a guarantee he is the money for top 2. He also has three RB who can end up top 20. Kyle had a great week, but ran into a buzzsaw. His QB and 2 RB combined for 66 points, which sounds okay but is really really good. Does the league believe in Puka Nacua? Do we? He also has Breece Hall, Tony P, and Derrick Henry, so I think he will stick around, or trade and get hella picks... Nick vs. Joe -> Nick pooped the bed, and Joe is good. That is all I got.
Taylor Swift : 1,4, 4, 2, 3,5, 4 = Average rating of 3.28
Beyonce: 3, 3, 2, 3, 5, 1, 1 = Average Rating of 2.57
Lady Gaga: 2, 2, 1, 4, 2, 3, 2 = Average Rating of 2.28
Katy Perry: 4,5, 5,5,4,4,5 = Average Rating of 4.57
Rihanna: 5, 1, 4, 1,2, 1, 3 = Average Rating of 2.28
Results - We as a group are tied with liking Lady Gaga and Rihanna. I am not a Rihanna fan whatsoever. I am a huge Swiftie. I hated this exercise. Also, Kyle wanted me to mention that he is a huge anti-Swiftie. I hate that too.
Best Scores: We are going to do a running tally of a perfect lineup for each week, and for the season as a hole. What player had the best performance each week at each position? What player had the best score for a single week for the length of the regular season. This week, we are going to obviously only have week 1 scores, but moving forward we will have it updated to reflect league long good games. THE ONE RULE IS THEY HAVE HAD TO BE STARTED DURING THEIR WEEK. For example, Steve Tidwell had Tua on his bench score 32 week 1 but that does not count because he was on the bench...
QB: Kirk Cousins (Week 2 BJ) - 35.56
RB: Christian McCaffrey (Week 1 JB) - 32.4 points
RB: DeAndre Swift (Week 2 Apostoles) - 28.6points
WR: Tyreek Hill (Week 1 Nick) - 44 Points
WR: Brandon Aiyuk (Week 1 Nolan) - 31.9 points
TE: TJ Hockenson (Week 2 Nick) 22.1 points
D/ST: Cowboys (Week 1 Joe) - 42 Points
K: Jake Elliott ( Week 1 Micah) - 16 points
0 and Negative Watch - We had 5 negatives in week 1. This week, Nick had RB Deon Jackson who scored 0.0. Jordan had the Jets D/ST score -3.... That should be it.
BJ 2
Joe 1
Jordan 1
George 1
Nick 1
Mike 1
5 Best Rookies - We are going to do a running power ranking of the best rookie dynasty picks each week ->
1) Bijan Robinson (Jordan Dynasty) -> Through two weeks, he has 180 rushing yards, 10 catches for 70 yards and a TD. 15 and 22 points in his first 2 games.
2) Jordan Addison (Nick 5th) - > Look guys. He has 7 catches and 11 targets in 2 weeks. He is on pace for JUST less than 1,000 yards. However, he has two BIG BOY TDs and he looks good. I trust Kirk to get him the ball. This may be a great pick Klaus moving forward.
3) Jahmyr Gibbs (Apostoles' Dynasty) -> He has like 200 total yards and 0 TD. I think he will be good, but not great. Am I waiting for him to overtake David? Yes. Yes I am. On pace for 90 targets, and 1000 total yards.
4) Anthony Richardson ( JB 5th) -> Dude is electric. He is averaging 8.5 points (probably a bit more) just from his legs each week. He had 2 TD, 1 INT, and about 300 yards in the air this season so far. Big plays making him good.
5) Zay Flowers (JB 5th) - Dude is also electric. Nobody else really stepped up this week, so he stays here as a default. Was thinking about leaving Sam Laporta here, but he needs to jump up a bit more. Plus he is a TE.
Bench Champ - We are telling everybody who was the bench champ in each week. This is who has the best bench every week. To be honest, who wants to hear about benches though?
Week 1 - Tidwell - 73
Week 2 - Nick 95.20
King of the Hill - Last week we lost George. This week we lost Nick. Call us the Romans because we took out the Greeks the last few weeks... Too soon? I only waited 2000 years... Still alive -> Joe, BJ, Jordan, JB, Tidwell, Kyle, Mike, Apostoles, Micah, Nolan
Playoff Standings - JB, Joe, BJ, Micah, Jordan, Nolan, Nick, Apostoles, Berrones, Tidwell, Kyle, George.

Hoff's Hot Takers Power Rankings - BJ, JB, Joe, Tidwell, Jordan, Nick, Micah, Kyle, Nolan, Peter, Mike, George
