12/5/23

12/05/2023
  • JB knocks off George in the highest scoring game of the week, 161-111.  John gets a 40 burger from Deebo.  JB put up 160 in this game, and started two guys who put up 0 points this week.  This team looks to be a bye team, and looks to be humming right now.  I would say that JB is one of 4 people that are able to win the title as we currently sit on 12/5 at 8:00AM.  Pacheco is a great bench RB, and with Josh back, he should be off and running.  George had a real good year from where he was projected to be after the draft.  Things are looking up -> We got CJ Stroud as his QB from cheap moving forward.  We got Jaylen Warren, and Devon Achane as keepers as well which are up and coming backs.  He has Jamaar Chase still.  He has a few picks next year.  Look at George everybody!
  • The game of the week turned out to be quite the dud, as Joe beats Nick 153-86.  Nick's entire team was on bye pretty much, so much so that he did not want to drop anybody so he started two blank roster spots.  Tyreek got him half of his points, and thats about that.  Joe had  only his kicker below 9 points.  Joe should be in the title game this season.  Against who, I do not know....
  • Zero and Negative Watch -> We have not updated this for weeks 10,11,12,and 13, so here we go....  In week 10, Jordan started Gerald Everett for 0, Nick started Saints D for 0, and Nolan started Jahan Dotson for 0.  In week 11, BJ started both Garett Wilson, and the Bengals DST for negative points.  In week 12, BJ also started Jonnu Smith for 0.  Nick started both Matt Prater and the Lions for 0.  Kyle started Hunter Henry for 0.  In week 13, we had a total of 10 (10!) roster spots with a zero, with BJ, Nolan, and Nick all having multiples... After 13 weeks, here is the counter for how many times each team has started a zero or a negative : 1 time = Tidwell and George.  2 times = Jordan, Mike, Apostles, Kyle, and Micah.  3 times = Joe and JB.  5 times = Nolan.  6 times = Nick.  9 times = BJ.
  • Kyle takes down BJ, as the season from hell continues for our dancing queen, Beej.  Kyle added Puka Nacua at the start of the season for 76 bucks, and it was a sound investment.  Pollard is no longer keepable, so Puka can slide right in and be a solid #2 WR for Kyle next season for a 13th round pick. Puka, Derrick Henry and Brock Purdy combined for 90 points, and thats all Kyle would have needed pretty much.  Beej needs to use the rest of the season to get a third keeper to go with Garrett Wilson and Davonta Smith.
  • The Cousin Bowl between the Apostles and Tidwell ends in favor of Steve this year, as Tidwell wins 104-84.  Tua and Joe Mixon were Tidwell's only players in double digits, but it was enough to get a 20 point victory.  Tidwell has to feel extra good about this because Adams and Barkley were on bye!  Barring some craziness, looks like the Apostles are out of the playoff picture.  Laporta with 27, and is now firmly a top 3 rookie keeper moving forward.
  • Rookie Ranks -> We are going to go with our top 5 rookies based on value for next years managers... 1) Bijan Robinson (Jordan 16th. 2) Devon Achane (George 10th).  3) Sam LaPorta (Apostles 11th).  4) Puka Nacua (Kyle 13th).  5) Jamhyr Gibbs (Apostles 16th).  Honorable Mention of CJ Stroud (George 13th) and Zay Flowers (JB 5th).
  • Jordan holds onto that last playoff spot as he beats Micah 114-75. Alvin Kamara lead the way for Jordan by scoring two touchdowns, and getting 25 points.  Hurts, Olave, and a TD from Montgomery secured the game.  Jordan is going to need a point, and probably 2, to keep that last spot this weekend.  Micah had a great run on MNF with Evan Engrahm, but falls a bit short.  Engrahm is a solid keeper, and I enjoy that Micah has him.  The Jags are fun to watch, but kinda weird at the same time.  They both suck, and are good.Schrodingers Jags.
  • The Bengals and Jaguars played on MNF this week.  They combined to go 64/78 passing in the game.  The 82% completion percentage for the game was the highest in NFL history with at least 75 passes thrown.
  • The Patriots have lost their last three games by a combined score of 10-6. 10-7, and 6-0.   They are the only team to go 0-3 while allowing under 30 points total in NFL history. Histrorically bad shit outta Foxborough there.

  • Mike Evans had a good game this week, and is now over 1,000 yards this season. Mike Evans has had over 1,000 yards each of his ten seasons in the NFL. The only other person to start their career with 10 1,000 yard seasons is Jerry Rice. Ever heard of him? How high on the all time receiving yards can Mike get? Mike is 30 right now. Lets say he has 3 years at 1,000 yards, then he falls down a bit to like 800 and 750. That would be another 4,550 yards. That would put his career total just under 16,000 yards. There are only two WR in the history of the NFL with over 16,000 yards - Larry Fitz and Jerry Rice. Tony Gonzalez is 6th all time with 15,127. That seems very doable for Mike Evans. So, get ready in a few years to look up and go " Mike Evans has the 8th most yards in NFL history?" and we are not gonna have any idea how we got there
  • The Lions scored three times in the first 7 minutes of the game on Sunday.  They are the first time to score 21 in the first 7 minutes since 1986.
  • Mike wins by 90 over Nolan.  Mike was the high man of the week with 175 points.  Mike for Manager of the Year.  He started his season by both of his long term keepers, Dobbins and Chubb, blowing out legs.  Mike Williams went down.  Kyren Williams missed time.  Pittman and Evans have had tough situations.  But here is Mikey. Still hanging around.  Mike got 27 points from his DST and Kicker.  Nolan had half of his points come from DK Metcalf.  Berrones looks to be officially locked in to the playoffs with those three points.  He will be a tough out.  I could see him scoring 90 points in the playoffs, or score like 146 and wreck a teams hopes.  Fun stuff.
  • Perfect Lineup through 13 weeks = Josh Allen. CMC. Raheem Mostert. Keenan Allen. Tyreek Hill. CeeDee Lamb. Travis Kelce. Dallas Cowboys. Dustin Hopkins.
  • Tyreek Hill has three games under 20 points this season.  He has 7 games over 25 points.
  • Week 14 Preview - Joe vs Tidwell will decide the 1st bye, and will determine Tidwell's fate.  Tidwell needs a huge week, because he loses the tiebreaker on points to everybody.  Jordan needs a point, probably two to stay in the playoffs against George.  Nick has been sliding down a bit recently, but a win against Kyle will keep him the 3 spot, and will effectively knock Kyle out of contention.  Big week 14 boys.
