11/7/23
Hello and welcome to Hoff's Hot Takes. We are halfway done with the NFL season, so why not do a state of the union for each team. It will probably be more lively than our actual Presidents actual State of the Union. We are brought to you by OG Watermelon, Bodem, and NFL in Frankfurt, Germany. Let us ride with going over King of the Hill, and then we will move into the recaps.
King of the Hill - To recap, George, Nick, Jordan, Beej, Nolan, JB, Kyle, and Tidwell have been eliminated the first eight weeks. Apostles, Micah, Mike, and Joe are our Final 4. Well, now we are down to three : Everybody say goodbye to Peter and Paul. They went to their last supper. Peter scored 57 to be eliminated this week. We have Micah, Mike, and Joe as our final three.

Half Way Recap for each team
Brian
Wins - Kyle and George (162 points and 145 points. Has not scored above 107 all other games)
Losses - Joe, Mike, Nolan, John, Nick, Tidwell, Micah.
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Kept Cam Akers for his 16th slot, and he just tore his leg up. Davonta for a 6th, and Garrett Wilson for a 9th are good values, and he should respect them as such. He can keep Roschon Johnson for an 8th, so if he is the future, there is a guy to keep. The rest of his team is objectivley random as fuck. Has an extra 1 and 3 from trading some guys to JB. Somehow Jonnu Smith and Sam Howell are top 12 at their position. As a Bijan owner, please stop it Jannu. PLEASE!!!!
Notes - I kind of do not want to write anything about his team. So, being as his kickers name is Anders, here is a compilation of clips from Anders from Workaholics.
George
Wins - Nolan, Joe, Apostles, Jordan
Losses - Micah, Mike, Kyle, John, BJ
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Jamaar for a 6th forever. I do not need to go into why.... He sneaky has Jaylen Warren for a 15th round pick. He is probably gonna be the runner for the Steelers next year. Like that forever for him. George has CJ Stroud for a 13th/11th/9th who may be the young QB in the league. Javonte is probably done. Devon Achane has played four games in the NFL, and he has 1,22,28,and 56 points in fantasy. He can be kept for a 10th forever for George, or he can be traded for a ton and the new team can keep him for a 8/6/4 forever. George for the first time since 2016 (literally) has a trade surplus - George has an extra 2,4, and 6 next year from JB and Jordan. Rachee Rice and Nico Collins are good keepers too. The keeper part of this is gonna be waaaaay longer than the notes part. Does he go into next year with Stroud, Achane, Chase and have 1,2,2,3,4,4 to build a superteam? Ill call it now, I think George is a money winner in 2024.
Notes - I think George would be a favorite for the final four if he did not trade Kamara for two fourths to Jordan. Kamara is RB 4 since the trade after this week. If something happens to Walker more, this is trouble for the league.
Joe
Wins - JB, Apostles, Jordan, Micah, Nick, BJ, Kyle
Losses - Tidwell, George
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Travis Etienne for a 10th rounder forever. Travis is currently RB2 as of this writing. He can not keep Lamb anymore. He can keep Rachaad White for an 8th and 6th the next two years, and he is currently a top 20 RB, so that may be good value. Nothing else to write home about. Joe has his regular original board for the draft. I am not going to comment on this trade stipulation malarkey.
Notes - My pick for the trophy this season after 9 weeks. Lamb is WR4, Andres is TE2, Etienne is RB2. If anything happens to Andrews he is not screwed either, as Dalton Schultz is good. Cowboys DST is DST1. I think he could use a QB upgrade to be like solid no doubt about it FAVORITE. Joe has 5 games over 122 points so far. Including a big boy over 160, in a week with low scoring teams as well... I did not even talk about Aman Ra St. Brown. Joe for the title game. Joe probably for the win.
John
Wins - Mike, George, Jordan, Nolan, BJ, Nick
Losses - Apostles, Joe, and Tidwell
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - We do not have to talk about Kyle Pitts. John still is riding Christian McCaffrey all these years later. Has been a valuable part of JB staying competitive all these years. Pacheco is good, not great, but has a 7th/5th price tag for two years. Easily tradable or keepable. John has Zay Flowers in the 5th, who has been up and down but looks good. May be too expensive to take a flyer, but could be awesome. Tank Dell seems the better choice with a 15th round price tag and has three games already over 26 points. John also has Raheem Mostert with a real cheap price as well. JB is set up to wheel and deal this summer and be in the money game. For next years title, I think it will be George vs. JB.
Notes - JB started 5-0, and is quietly 1-3 in his last four. JB traded for Kelce to have TE1. He has RB 1 and 2. He has QB 2. If he has two of Deebo, Tank, Flowers, Thelien stay hot, he will be near the end. JB lowkey stashed Kyler Murray away, so if anyone wants a terrible small QB let JB know. McCaffrey is on pace for a shade under 2000 total yards and 20 TD. His kicker is 34/34 attempting FGs under 40 yards.
Jordan
Wins - Tidwell, Apostles, Kyle, and Mike
Losses - Micah, George, JB, Joe, Nolan
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Olave and Waddle have me worried -> They will always wind up WR 7-15 but never have weeks that win you the matchup, just a bunch of 7 catches for 89 yards. Never getting hurt and always just being good. Bijan has had a year from hell. Arthur Smith just shaved his mustache, so you know it is bad for them. Jordan traded a 4th round pick for Kamara, and a third in the preseason, so his draft board aint the best.
Notes - On paper, this is a top team, but in reality, it is the definition of Mid. Waller is hurt. Montgomery has been hurt. Bijan is so far in the doghouse you can not see him. It is Schrodinger's Dog House - he is both in and not in there. Hurts is a TD machine, but that Eagles team and him are not as good as they once were. Jordans kicker has not missed a FG or XP this season - he is 40/40.
Kyle
Wins - Tidwell, Micah, George
Losses - Nolan, BJ, Nick, Jordan, Apostles, Joe
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Kyle now has rights to Puka Nacua for 13/11/9 for the next three years. Derrick Henry is RB6 right now, but Tajae Spears is looming. Henry is a 4th. Breece Hall is a stud for a 3, and Tony Pollard is done as far as keepers go, so him going back into the pot is interesting. Will Levis? Traded a 7th rd pick. Kyle does not have a first or a 7th.
Notes - Kyle has Will Levis going hard to start his career. Purdy and Levis is a hell of a duo. DJ Moore is WR5, but only has three games over 11 points, obviously being helped by the 55 pointer on that one game... Tony Pollard currently has the longest streak in the NFL with the most touches without a TD. He has 6 players inside the top 6 a their position, including 2 DSTs. I respect he is holding onto Zach Ertz in his IR spot. Just let him go Kyle, let him go... Kyle won weeks 4-5-6 and lost all other weeks.
Micah
Wins - George, Jordan, Apostles, Nolan, BJ
Losses - Joe, Kyle, Mike, Nick
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Hollywood Brown's last season with Micah here... Kenneth Walker is a 4th forever, but they have been using Zach Charbanet from UCLA a lot lately. Micah has all of his original picks and no more and no less. I've said before that Evan Engram for a 11th and 9th moving forward may be solid.
Notes - Mahomes, Walker, AJ Brown. Those guys most weeks will be like 60 points. Man, I can still not get a read on this team. I think Hollywood Brown is gonna make a leap, and Micah should be like the 5th seed. Mahomes is on pace for over 45 TD and 5000 yards total. AJ Brown is on pace for breaking the single season recieving yards record. If Cole Kmet and The Eagles kicker keep it up, he will be in the final four somehow, much like when i score under 100 in the immaculate grid.
Mike
Wins - Nolan, Nick, BJ, Micah, George, Apostles
Losses - JB, Tidwell, Jordan
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - JK Dobbins and Kareem Hunt tore their legs to pieces in consecutive weeks. He has QB 11,15,and 18 : 18 is Trevor Lawerence. Lawrence is a 16th forever. He still has the tore leg guys. He has Jerome Ford for 13/11/9 to replace those RBs. Jake Ferguson is climbing the ranks for keeper status too. Top 12 TE and I will bet he finishes top 9. Mike has Jordan's 3rd round pick.
Notes - Mike has the 2nd ranked DST Ravens, and Kareem Hunt is RB33. Other than that, his whole main roster is between 12-17. He is a perfect death by a thousand cuts team. Two games under 100 scored, and his high is 121. He will have scored a points point in weeks 6,7,8 and 9. Mike is Hot! Everybody is between 8 and 19 points for his starting lineup in this last matchup. Got an extra 7th rd pick from Kyle.
Nick
Wins - Micah, Steve, BJ. Nolan, Kyle, and Apostles
Losses - Joe, Mike, John
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Going to go ahead and say that Nick is not going to run back Alexander Mattison as a keeper for a 5th next year unless he balls out quick. He has traded DK Metcalf, and Johnathon Taylor is his forever for a 16th. Jordan Addison in the 5th may be his new guy, cause he is pretty good. He has JSN as a 4th as well. Gus Edwards for an 8th. Nick is missing his 4th round pick, so JSN may be a no go.
Notes - Hockenson, Keenan, Diggs, Tyreek, and Josh Jacobs are all top 7 at their position. He has four guys on pace for about 15 TDs. I think Nick vs. Joe is a solid guess for a title game at this point. Should be able to win 3 of 5 or better to close the year out and get a bye. Is Nick a fraud like the Dolphins? He lost to the teams ranked 1,3, and 4 currently.
Nolan
Wins - Kyle, BJ, and Jordan
Losses - Mike, John, Nick, Tidwell, Micah, George
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Nolan dumped Kamara for Jahan Dotson at the start of the year, and it may have been the wrong move. Justin Herbert is a stud, but there is something about him that is just weird. I think it is because he plays for the Chargers. If he was a Cowboy or Giant he would be good or something I bet. Justin Jefferson is the best football player in the world, but not when he is hurt. Nolan picked up an extra 5th round pick for next years draft. Dalton Kincaid is a 11th rounder for him, so if he starts going off on the Bills that is possible.
Notes - Was on a four game losing streak before winning over Jordan. Jefferson was on pace to break the single season receiving record until he got hurt - so something like 2000 yards and 13 TDs. Jahan Dotson is on pace for like 7 TD, but only about 600 yards. Herbert is on pace for over 4000 yards, but low TD numbers. Aiyuk is good. Brian Robinson is too, and while he would be expensive, he would be a 4th round keeper if he blows up in the second half. Josh Downs is alright too.
Peter
Wins - Kyle, JB, and Tidwell
Losses - Nick, Micah, George, Jordan, Joe, Mike
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - DeAndre Swift most likely will be kept as he is a 16th and still good, and on a good offense. Peter took Jahmyr Gibbs this season dynasty style, and has had a few good weeks with Montgomery out. Swift and Gibbs is a good RB pair to use all the draft picks on the other positions and be stacked. George Pickens is hanging around for an 8th round pick. Derrick Henry has slowed, and Tajae Spears in the 11th sounds like it has potential. Sam Laporta in the 13th
Notes - Apostles are in a weird middle ground like The Dude - should probably be a little better, but are smack dab in the mid category. Gibbs, Lamar, DeAdnre, and Cooper Kupp should make this team a hard out to wrap up the season, and Laporta is a wildcard. McClauren and Amari Cooper are solid yardage wise, but on pace for a small amount of touchdowns. Pickens is so good, but he is most likely the next "diva"
WR.
Steve
Wins - Joe, Mike, Nolan, BJ, and jB
Losses - Jordan, Apostles, Kyle, and Nick
Keeper/Rookie Outlook - Saquon Barkley has been in and out of the lineup, and overall has been inconsistently playing for a few years. He is still cheap, and elite runningbacks are tough to find, so expect him to still be rocking with Tiddy next year. Justin Fields has not been, uh, good. He is cheap as well, so if he can come back from that injury and start balling out and running he should be kept too. Najaee Harris has been his other guy, but Warren is coming on for Pittsburgh. Should be an interesting offseason for Tidwell.
Notes - Tua and Fields is about as good of a QB duo as possible in our league. Tua is currently QB3. For some reason, when you look at his team and realize he is starting 2 Raiders WRs you do a double take, but Adams and Myers are really good, they just need a QB. Kittle is TE 6. He has a ton of guys in the 17-28 range at their position.
0 and Negative Watch - Giants DST started by JB. Tidwell started 49ers D for 0, who were on a bye. With JB and Tidwell starting those players, we now have everyone at least start a 0 or negative once.
BJ - 5
Mike, Nolan, Joe -2
Jordan, George, Apostles, Nick, Micah, Tidwell, JB, Kyle-1
Best Scores: We are going to do a running tally of a perfect lineup for each week, and for the season as a hole. What player had the best performance each week at each position? What player had the best score for a single week for the length of the regular season. This week, we are going to obviously only have week 1 scores, but moving forward we will have it updated to reflect league long good games. THE ONE RULE IS THEY HAVE HAD TO BE STARTED DURING THEIR WEEK. For example, Steve Tidwell had Tua on his bench score 32 week 1to lead all QBs, but that does not count because he was on the bench...
QB: CJ Stroud (Week 9 George) - 51.8 points
RB: Raheem Mostert (Week 3 JB) - 41.7 points
RB: Christian McCaffrey (Week 4 JB) - 48.2 points
WR: DJ Moore (Week 5 Kyle) - 55 Points
WR: Jamar Chase (Week 5 George) - 52.7 Points
TE: Travis Kelce (Week 7 JB) - 32.9 Points
D/ST: Cowboys (Week 1 Joe) - 42 Points
K: Dustin Hopkins (Week 7 Joe) - 22 Points
Bench Champ - We are telling everybody who was the bench champ in each week. This is who has the best bench every week. To be honest, who wants to hear about benches though?
Week 1 - Tidwell - 73
Week 2 - Nick 95.20
Week 3 - George 80.7 (59 from Devon Achane)
Week 4 - JB with 58.9
Week 5 - Kyle with 98.08
Week 6 - JB with 73.02
Week 7 - Nick with 97
Week 8 - Nick with 90
Week 9 - Nick with 53
